Ok. So, I'm preparing to put a new set of mini twists in my hair today and I need to stretch my hair prior to doing it. Usually, I wash, dc, treat, and blow dry my hair just enough until it is about 75-80% dry then I let it air dry. However, this time I'm trying something new for me. No heat to stretch my curls and kinks.
Yesterday, I wanted to twist my hair but some things got in the way that basically took up my whole day, including spending over 2 hours in terrible Queen City traffic. Anyway, I pulled my hair back into a ponytail, braided the tail, and twisted it into a bun. Sounds like a lot but it really isnt. I slept in my satin bonnet and woke up this morning. Took down my hair, ran a wide tooth comb through it, moisturized and put jojoba oil on my ends and proceeded to wrap my hair like I would if it were straightened. Surprisingly, it took no more time than usual and actually looks pretty decent. Now, I'm not saying I'd wear this out like a style a la Rihanna, but, I will put on my wig to leave the house this a.m. for a store run.
Here's the photo of my afro wrap.
